SUMMARY:A Drive to Survive: Covid-19 Implications for Systemic Resilience on Ethics\, Data Science and Risk-Management
DESCRIPTION:(European Teleclass)Prof. Andro Košec\, University of Zagreb\, Croatia \n\n\n\n\nObjectives:\n\n\n\n\nThe intertwined nature of medical disasters and other man-made systemic constructs such as healthcare\, disaster relief efforts\, morality\, professionalism\, data access and curation has been put to the test very recently by the COVID-19 pandemic\, and even more so\, by the way we responded to it.The objective of the talk will target the systemic bias and underlying principles of action by human (moral) agents in dealing with a multisystemic event requiring thinking outside the box when assessing its impact.\n\n\n\nThe framework of resilience will especially be highlighted\, as the high frequency of adverse (traumatic) events may even have positive effects and could even be viewed as a precursor to any progress. The enthusiastic listener will be confronted by data on the various pandemic aspects\, but also possible implications on multiple catastrophies occuring together in the health system\, and try to extricate meaning to our professional lives beyond the obvious\, even after the pandemic is (hopefully) over. From a healthcare perspective\, the common framework of understanding is the most important learning objective\, since we were all affected as either providers\, recipients of healthcare\, as organizers\, decision-makers\, taxpayers\, but most importantly – as human beings sharing a sense of a common threat.

SUMMARY:Developing a Better Understanding of Hygiene is Key to Developing Effective Hygiene Behaviour in Homes and Everyday Lives
DESCRIPTION:(Free Teleclass)Dr. Sally Bloomfield\, International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene \n\n\n\n\nObjectives:\n\n\n\n\nThis presentation will explore: – UK polling showing that the public have high level of concern about the importance of hygiene to prevent spread of COVID-19 and understand the routes of transmission\, but\, as found in previous public polls\, were unable to use their knowledge to make informed decisions on when to practice hygiene.\n\n\n\nWhy hygiene behaviour change and resilience against future infection threats will not be achieved unless we also take steps to improve public understanding of hygiene.\n\n\n\nHow a risk management approach based on identifying “key moments for hygiene” offers a framework for developing effective hygiene that meet C21st needs.\n\n\n\nHow this approach communicates hygiene actions in the sequence the public need to receive them\, firstly identifying the daily life moments WHEN we need to practice hygiene\, and secondly the places WHERE and then HOW we need to practice hygiene at that moment.\n\n\n\nBecause Targeted Hygiene is applicable to all hygiene-related infections and communicates in a way that is easily visualized and understood\, it has the potential to enable the public to understand\, adapt and respond to different challenges and threats.
