Outline: | Objectives: - Describe policy as an intervention for improving practice and why it is different to other safety and quality improvement activities - Describe the findings of a qualitative study which identified factors that influence policy implementation in the hospital setting, broadly speaking and specific to infection control policy. - Describe policy characteristic that influence policy implementation. - Describe key principles in terms of policy development and implementation to bridge the gap between policy and practice - Discuss implications of these in terms of infection control policy & practice. |
