Objectives

  • The real and perceived  public health significance of city mice and rats based on  latest science.
  • Based on the published research of the above, the goal for all health care facilities must be: “A Rodent-Free HCF” as often as possible.
  • Factors to assess HC structures relative to rodent  invasion risks, potential for long term infestations, and financial considerations when hiriing pest professionals (As with most services and goods: with pest control services, you will get what you pay for here also).
  • Why the goal of a  rodent free HC facility is 70% onus on the  facility and  in a partnership of 30% on a quality contracted pest professional servicing the facility.  What the 70% entails.
  • What the pest professional’s  30% entails  (Hint: It is not about seeing exterior ‘bait boxes’ on the exterior perimeter walls and interior mouse traps placed on both sides of doors or periodically into areas of complaints, (i.e.,  is  merely just a trap checking service).
  • Questions and Answers and myth busting of rats and mice. To be posted
